Strategic Planning

After an organization determines its corporate identity, the next important step is to evaluate its strategic plan. Strategic planning is the process of determining:

  • Where an organization is going over the next year
  • How it is going to get there
  • How will it know when it has accomplished its plan

There are various types of strategic planning models some are as follows:

  • Goals model- This model starts with goal setting, then a strategy to achieve the goals is developed, and finally the action chart is developed (who, what, where, and by when)
  • Issues model- Sometimes it becomes necessary to start with a problem itself, then arrive at a solution, and a course of action
  • Organic roots model- This is the process of getting back to a company's roots, its original vision, and then creating a plan that will stick with the original vision.

There is also different types of analysis for creating a strategic plan. Two Models are SWOT and PEST:
